ABOUT THE PROJECT
Our ability to observe the solar system may be limited, but Half Moon Bay Park's architect had the bright vision to bring the solar system to us. For the City of Ottawa, which was looking for distinctive precast elements that would help establish the idea of the solar system, we ordered custom fibreglass moulds to manufacture three various sizes of precast spheres in order to simulate the solar system. We created and supplied the spheres with a standard grey mix design in various finishes. After seeing the finished park, you get the impression of being completely suspended in space.
