When the City of Gatineau set out to revitalize several key streets and public spaces, the goal was to create a more welcoming, pedestrian-friendly environment that residents could enjoy for years to come. To help bring that vision to life, Central Precast supplied custom precast benches, seatwalls, and stairs for multiple locations throughout the project, including Rue Notre-Dame, Blvd. Mahoney Est, Rue Jean-Renée-Monette, Rue Saint-André, Rue Bruchesi, and Church Street.
What made this project especially unique was the use of custom curves, profiles, and seating configurations designed to complement the renewed streetscape. No two locations were exactly alike, which meant our team had to design and manufacture a variety of custom forms to meet the specific requirements of each area. From production through delivery, careful coordination was essential to ensure the right pieces arrived at the right location, on schedule, and ready for installation.
Completed in approximately eight weeks, this project showcases more than just our custom manufacturing capabilities. It highlights Central Precast's ability to manage complex projects across multiple sites while maintaining the quality, consistency, and attention to detail that municipalities rely on. The result is a revitalized public space that combines durability, functionality, and visual appeal, proving how custom precast concrete can help transform everyday streets into vibrant community destinations.
