Overview

The primary responsibilities of this position are to perform tasks to assist in the successful completion of projects from start to finish. Work with hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to established safe working procedures and wearing the proper safety equipment always.  Assist in the resolution of design issues, change requests, material defects, and site concerns. Enable your crew to maintain high standards of workmanship and efficiency.

 

Responsibilities

  • Must have at least 2 yrs consecutive experience doing construction or renovations
  • Experience in drywall, finishing, flooring, framing, painting and related tasks are required
  • Must have valid drivers’ license and reliable transportation
  • Must be punctual and have strong work ethic
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions, work independently and with others are mandatory

Overview:  

The primary responsibilities of this position are primarily working with concrete and reinforced steel for precast concrete structures. This is a demanding job that requires good physical condition and the ability to maintain a high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collecting materials, assembling cages, setting up casts prior to pouring concrete
  • Pouring concrete
  • Raking, tamping, and leveling poured concrete
  • Cleaning and oiling concrete molds
  • Applying smooth finish to concrete, ready to receive paint
  • Transporting raw materials throughout the plant manually
  • Participating daily in the warehouse cleanliness and upkeep
  • Checking finished precast for damage and defects
  • Assisting and participating in concrete repairs

Qualifications

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma

 

Experience:

  • Highly proficient in using hand/power tools and equipment to prepare and level concrete. Proven experience/expertise in the manual use of a trowel to produce high quality concrete surfaces
  • Perform repetitive, physical labor for long periods of time in a dusty, dirty, wet and muddy environment. Maintain high levels of safety and be aware of their surroundings
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong work ethic

CRANE OPERATOR

Overview

Crane operators are responsible for aiding in all areas of the precast plant. They are responsible for safely operating cranes or draglines to lift, move, position or place machinery, equipment and other large objects throughout the yard and plant. They participate in general housekeeping and other various tasks.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Operate conventional crane 70 T to lift, move, position or place concrete precast panels and materials
  • Perform pre-operational inspection, and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting
  • Collaborate with riggers, signal people and project managers
  • Maintain worksite safety and comply with all OSHA and company standards
  • May assemble tower cranes on site
  • Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning and lubricating cranes.
  • Other related duties as requested

 

Qualifications:

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Crane Operator Certification

 

Years of experience:

  • Valid crane Certification
  • 2 + years of experience operating an in-cab crane in a manufacturing facility with the highest level of safety

Skilled Labourer

Overview

Skilled Labourers are responsible for aiding in all areas of the precast plant. They are
responsible for collecting materials, assembling cages, setting up forms and concrete
placing. They participate in general housekeeping and other various tasks throughout the

Responsibilities

  • Receive oral instructions to determine work assignments
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
  • Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete
  • Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually or using powered equipment
  • Assist machine operators, Crane Operators and other labourers as required
  • Bending of reinforcing steel for precast concrete structures
  • May assist with minor repairs and maintenance
  • Remove rubble and other debris
  • Clean and remove excess debris from molds and other equipment
  • Participate in daily Pre-Production Meetings
  • Complete Field Level Risk Assessments before beginning each task

  • Minimum 1 year Construction or concrete experience

  • Experience working in a production line setting
  • Prior experience in a precast setting or working with concrete is considered an asset

Welders are primarily responsible for building and welding the wire forms that are used for concrete production. They participate in general housekeeping and other various tasks throughout the plant. A high level of safety practices must be used at all times.

  • Interpret welding process specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic, full automated welding equipment
  • Operate flame-cutting equipment
  • Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines
  • Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal
  • Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment
  • Determine weldability of materials
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
  • Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
