SKILLED LABOURER

Overview

Skilled Labourers are responsible for aiding in all areas of the precast plant. They are
responsible for collecting materials, assembling cages, setting up forms and concrete
placing. They participate in general housekeeping and other various tasks throughout the
plant. A high level of safety practices must be used at all times.

 

Responsibilities

  • Receive oral instructions to determine work assignments
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and
    moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and
    handling of materials
  • Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete
  • Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually
    or using powered equipment
  • Assist machine operators, Crane Operators and other labourers as required
  • Bending of reinforcing steel for precast concrete structures
  • May assist with minor repairs and maintenance
  • Remove rubble and other debris
  • Clean and remove excess debris from molds and other equipment
  • Participate in daily Pre-Production Meetings
  • Complete Field Level Risk Assessments before beginning each task

 

Qualifications

 

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma

 

Years of Experience

  • Minimum 1 year Construction or concrete experience

 

Specific Experience

  • Experience working in a production line setting
  • Prior experience in a precast setting or working with concrete is considered an asset
    Competencies
  • Maintain high level of safety at all times
  • Able to work in a fast paced, high production environment
  • Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays
  • Maintain a professional attitude at all times, especially when handling stressful situations
  • Able to work unsupervised, motivated to complete all tasks

WELDER

Overview
Welders are primarily responsible for building and welding the wire forms that are used for concrete production. They participate in general housekeeping and other various tasks throughout the plant. A high level of safety practices must be used at all times.

 

Responsibilities

  • Interpret welding process specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic, full automated welding equipment
  • Operate flame-cutting equipment
  • Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines
  • Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal
  • Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment
  • Determine weldability of materials
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
  • Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
  • Complete Field Level Risk Assessments before beginning each task

 

Qualifications

Education Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

 

Years of Experience

  • Minimum 1 year to less than 2 years
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Layout forms

 

Specific Experience

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and plans
  • Prior experience in a welding shop is an asset

INSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Overview

The Inside Sales Rep position is a frontline position with extensive interaction with customers, co-workers, drivers, yard and plant personnel. This position also ensures that customers are serviced in a courteous and attentive manner and that orders and purchases are handled properly, accurately and in a timely fashion.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers at the counter and over the phone including.
  • Prepare loading bills, delivery tickets and/or invoices as required.
  • Calculate customer material requirements.
  • Take customer orders over the phone and/or in person.
  • Answer incoming calls and assist or direct calls as required.
  • Assist in Inventory management-updating, controlling and/or ordering as required.
  • Ordering supplies, completion and maintenance of applicable documents.
  • Prepare Point of sale (POS) daily cash receipts log.
  • Co-ordinate deliveries to customers with Dispatcher.
  • Participate in taking our physical inventory.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma with minimum of 2 yrs. experience in inside sales or related position ideally within the building materials or landscape products field.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven customer service orientation demonstrating a positive and professional attitude towards customers at all times.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Adaptable and willing to help out as required including periodically loading pro
  • Keen attention to detail and effective organizational skill.

Carpenter

Overview

The primary responsibilities of this position are to perform tasks to assist in the successful completion of projects from start to finish. Work with hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to established safe working procedures and wearing the proper safety equipment always.  Assist in the resolution of design issues, change requests, material defects, and site concerns. Enable your crew to maintain high standards of workmanship and efficiency.

 

Responsibilities

  • Must have at least 2 yrs consecutive experience doing construction or renovations.
  • Experience in drywall, finishing, flooring, framing, painting and related tasks are required.
  • Must have valid drivers’ license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be punctual and have strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions, work independently and with others are mandatory.

Sandblaster

Overview

The sandblaster position is required for one of the final stages of precast concrete production. This individual will be required to use sandblastings techniques to finish precast elements. The applicant must have a good eye for consistency. Knowledge of compressors and sandblasting techniques is an asset.

 

Responsibilities

  • The right candidate will have blasting experience with sand, glass or water, on pre-cast concrete panels
  • They will have experience driving a heavy duty work truck
  • Shotblasting experience would be an asset, but willing to train
  • Reliable transportation to work

 

Qualifications

  • Forklift Licence an asset.  Not required.

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma
