Albion Hills Conservation Park
Modular Building
Contractor: Unique Builders
Consultant: Moon-Matz Ltd. Consulting Engineers
At Albion Hills Conservation Park, the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) wanted to give visitors a better, more accessible restroom experience. Central Precast was brought on to create four new prefabricated modular buildings that would be durable, easy to maintain, and accessible for everyone. Each double washroom building was constructed on a precast concrete sanitary holding tank and featured unique precast wall panels with simulated split limestone and barn board patterns, stained in complementary colours to blend beautifully with the natural surroundings. The large precast roof slabs, substantial overhangs, and anti-graffiti sealer ensure these structures will stand up to heavy use and weather for years to come.
By choosing precast concrete and stainless-steel connections, the team replaced aging wooden structures with something built to last. Each building was fully assembled and completed in one day at four different locations throughout the park — all within one week. An additional week was used to install doors, caulking, and final accessories. We’re proud to help create spaces that make parks more comfortable and accessible for the whole community.
