ABOUT THE PROJECT

This project highlights both the versatility and efficiency of Central Precast’s insulated Thermowall panels. For this new boiler facility, we provided precast panels with an R-value of 20 to meet the client’s energy performance requirements while also achieving a distinctive exterior design. Each panel combined a simulated brick pattern with a simulated corrugated metal finish stained in bold blue; this is the first time our team has integrated these two finishes within the same panel. The result was a façade that blends seamlessly with its surroundings while also standing out as a visually striking feature of the facility.

Originally, the design called for precast panels with separate corrugated metal attachments. Instead, we proposed casting the corrugated metal pattern directly into the precast using form liners and applying a custom blue stain to match the client’s colour scheme. This approach saved installation time, reduced maintenance, and created a more cohesive look. With a production timeline of just four weeks and on-site installation completed in five days, the project was delivered on schedule and to the client’s satisfaction. The Lactalis Boiler Building demonstrates how our precast solutions provide durability, efficiency, and innovative design that set Central Precast apart in the industry.
