The client needed an exterior insulated wall cladding that simulated brick and stucco, and could be painted according to their colour scheme. Having won a competitive bidding process, Central Precast was able to manufacture insulated (R12) Thermowall® Systems panels that simulated the desired effect, with a surface that could be painted or stained. To create the stucco finish panels, a plywood surface coated with resin and fibreglass was used. For panels with a simulated brick pattern, full-height rubber liners were used. When it came to fabricating stucco panels with brick accent bands, rubber liners were fastened to the production floor and placed at the desired spacing. In between the liners, the production floor was built up to compensate for the thickness of the liners and achieve the combination of stucco and brick, resulting in both elements being flush. The insulated panels were manufactured in just eight weeks and installed in four, providing a visually appealing and thermo efficient solution for the client.
