Incorporating aesthetics, functionality, and efficiency, we crafted a Hydro Vault structure harmonizing with a housing development. The client aimed for aesthetic appeal, cost savings, and fire safety. Our innovative approach involved using precast concrete for the Hydro Vault roof, reinforced with pre-stressing cables, ensuring strength and a 3-hour fire rating. Design excellence was achieved with insulated precast wall panels featuring an R10 rating, simulated brick patterns, and a color palette matching the surroundings. Originally, this structure was intended to be constructed with cast-in-place concrete for the walls and hollow-core slabs for the roof. The exterior was to feature a cladding of brick veneer and Hardie board siding, which would have taken several weeks, if not months, to make the building weather-tight. By opting for precast concrete, we completed the entire structure and achieved weather-tightness in just two weeks. Collaboration was key to success, as engineers, fabricators, and installers worked seamlessly to achieve a structure that is also visually appealing. The Hydro Vault project redefines architectural excellence by seamlessly integrating innovation, aesthetics, fire safety, and swift construction.
