King’s Independent
Richmond, ON
Summer 2012
Contractor: Stucor Construction
Architect: Turner Fleischer Architects
Our client was looking to build a new Independent retail store in the village of Richmond, ON. By selecting our precast panels, they were able to have insulated walls with multiple textures and finishes. This meant the building would look modern and distinctive, while providing the durability and temperature control necessary for a grocery store. Having consulted with our client, we spent three weeks in production and then installed the panels in just four days. During installation we stained the panels on site. The bottom portion of the panels have a simulated split face block pattern with a simulated sill, while the top has a simulated ledgestone dry stack pattern. In between the two portions is a light sandblast finish. At the corners the client opted for a simulated split face block pattern with a sill at the bottom, and a simulated ledgestone dry stack pattern at the top. The finished grocery store is an attractive addition to the village, and the client was pleased to have chosen precast concrete with its endless options for different textures and finishes.
